Wildcats announce Prior return on eve of new season

Nottingham Wildcats can confirm the return of its home grown leader and Great Britain international, Siobhan Prior for the 2018-19 WBBL campaign.

Fresh from Commonwealth Games success with England, Prior is a proven guard in the WBBL, averaging double figures over the last four years and shooting over 45% from the three-point line, during the teams’ Cup winning run last season.

Head Coach, Kenrick Liburd stated: “She’s the heartbeat of the programme and over the last few years, Siobhan has shown the ability score and win in this league.

“She is a hard nosed competitor that wears her heart on her sleeve and is passionate about representing both club and country.£

Prior added: “I’m excited to get the season underway. There’s a lot of new and exciting things happening at the club right now and it’s the most positive buzz I’ve felt here in a long while.

“The WBBL season gives me the opportunity to compartmentalise some of those new and exciting things.”

Talking about the team, Prior continued: “We have gathered a great bunch of girls – a good balance of youth and experience. All with very positive and professional attitudes towards the game.

“We want to win as many competitions as possible. I am looking forward to figuring out how we can do that together.”
