Nottingham Wildcats have won back-to-back WBBL Championship titles after Saturday’s 57-52 defeat of Team Northumbria wrapped-up this season’s league campaign with a game to spare.

Wildcats were led by Ashley Harris, the league’s leading scorer, as she posted a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds to help them turnaround an early deficit with a dominant second half performance.

Elsewhere, Leicester Riders moved into second place outright, and had ended Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters’ title hopes regardless of the Nottingham score, by beating their rivals 93-67.

It was a first ever WBBL win for Riders over Hatters, led by Alex Smith’s huge double-double of 21 points and 13 assists.

Finally, Sevenoaks Suns kept their hopes of a second-place finish alive by beating South East rivals Barking Abbey Crusaders 69-54, led by Anne Pedersen’s 21 points.
