Meanwhile, Leicester Riders ran out comfortable 73-57 winners at home over BA London Lions, to earn their second Championship victory of the season – while the visitors slip to a record of 1-3. Dee Hayward stole the show with an efficient, game-high 27 points while Claire Paxton added 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Finally, Cardiff Met Archers got off the mark with a 67-73 win on the road against the winless Essex Rebels – the side from Wales collecting their first points of the season. Beth Jones provided a key spark off the bench, netting a team-high 16 points on a perfect 6/6 shooting.
