A week after being pipped to the WBBL Cup at Arena Birmingham, a disappointed Sevenoaks Suns took a stride in the direction of another showpiece Final.
They edged towards the Semi-Finals of the Trophy as they went 2-0 in their Group as they stormed past Essex Rebels to follow up Saturday’s win at Lions.
Leading scorers – Janice Monakana 19, Judit Fritz 17, Cat Carr 16 (Suns) – Cat Lutz 13, Jessica Hunt 7, Grace Sinnott 6 (Rebels).
Turning point – There wasn’t one as Suns bolted out of the blocks right from the tip and within minutes were already out of sight.
Key stat – A massive 17 steals and shooting 50% from the floor showed that Sevenoaks were in control at both ends of the floor.
Game hero(es) – Cat Carr was on fire for the second time in as many days and garnered 16 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds, while Janice Monakana and Judit Fritz also shot nicely with 19 and 17 points respectively.
