The WBBL Trophy action continued this past weekend with just two unbeaten teams remaining.

Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters improved to 3-0 in the North Group after recording an impressive 74-60 victory at home to Manchester Mystics.

Steph Gandy led the way with 25 points, while Georgia Gayle added 20 to help the Hatters inflict a first loss on last month’s Cup champions.

Leicester Riders claimed their second win as they pulled clear for a 90-66 triumph over Oaklands Wolves behind a 36-point haul from Erika Livermore.

The American shot 70% from the floor with Alex Smith contributing a triple-double with 10 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists.

“We showed some good improvements today, particularly in transition offence,” said Riders Head Coach, Matt Harber.

“We have a team who want to run and now we’re running to score, which is a big difference.

“Erika’s efficiency is hard to ignore, but she is proving a great team mate and helping everyone on the perimeter to play with more space.

“Our focus is still to keep improving and working towards being more and more consistent each week and we have an interesting match-up against Barking next week.”

Nottingham Wildcats were victorious in the North with a 72-47 success over Caledonia Pride with Ashley Harris grabbing 20 boards to go with 16 points in the win.

Also, on Sunday, Sevenoaks Suns defeated Cardiff Met Archers 82-58 behind 20 points apiece from Renee Busch and Anne Pedersen for their second win of the competition.
