The end of the Regular Season may be in sight, but our fantastic line-up this week still has a couple of debutantes.
Sarah Thomson (Caledonia Pride)
It has been an excellent few weeks for Pride and fitting that they have two starters this week, with Scottish guard Thomson the first. She was at the heart of their crushing win against Barking Abbey Crusaders with a superb double-double of 18 points and 13 boards helping her to a debut spot.
Alison Gorrell (Team Northumbria)
While it has been an up and down season for the north-east franchise, their swingman has been a consistent factor and showed her quality to help dodge a bullet and sneak an overtime success against the winless Wolves. Gorrell accumulated an all-action and impressive 23 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and two steals.
Lauren Thomas-Johnson (Manchester Mystics)
Showing her capacity to do the business on the glass as well as making scores, Thomas-Johnson put in an eye-catching display for Mystics in their win against Cardiff Met Archers. She finished with a phenomenal 20 rebounds and completed a double-double with 13 points to find herself as a starter for the first time this season.
Ashley Harris (Nottingham Wildcats)
Our season leader is back again after she helped Wildcats to bounce back from their BBC Sport defeat to Hatters last Friday with a derby win against local rivals Leicester 48 hours later. Harris registered her customary double-double by dropping 28 points and also hauling down 10 rebounds.
Tricia Oakes (Caledonia Pride)
The rise of Pride into the WBBL Play-Off spots has been a great team effort, but the size and threat of Oakes under the hoops has been particularly potent. The centre finished the match-up against Oaklands Wolves with a huge double-double of 14 points and 17 rebounds – as well as four blocked shots.
