Team Northumbria held on to record a 68-65 success over Barking Abbey Crusaders to bounce back from Saturday’s loss.

Alison Gorrell netted an impressive 38 points to lead the home side to victory with Karen Bonnenberger also in double figures with 11 points.

The Crusaders edged the opening period before Northumbria moved in front with a 9-0 burst early in the second. However, they needed a late three from Gorrell to stay ahead at the half with the American moving to 20 points.

Northumbria pushed clear in the third to lead by eight, but the visitors kept fighting and closed to within a single point late in the game before Gorrell had the final basket to seal the game.

Abigail Johnson finished with 15 points for BA as they drop to 7-10 and will end the regular season in seventh.
