Suns look for Koppl to shine

Sevenoaks Suns are continuing to build a team to push for more silverware and honours in 2017-18 after landing Austrian frontcourt star Julia Koppl from German side BC Pharmaserv Marburg.

Competing in the highly rated DBBL which is a league her new teammate Chantelle Pressley has also frequented, the Tirol native averaged almost 6 points and 5 rebounds per game last season.

“We are delighted to be welcoming Julia to Sevenoaks for the new WBBL season,” enthused Suns’ head coach, Len Busch.

“We were recommended Julia by Diana Voynova, who knows the WBBL very well of course from her time at Team Northumbria.

“Julia brings us added size and experience and having played well in the German League, we are confident she will be successful in the WBBL,” added the play-caller.

Koppl has also represented Austria internationally, via their participation in Small Countries tournaments.
