It was a busy Sunday in the WBBL Championship and the leading sides all came up with wins as four of the top five who were in action posted positive results.

Leicester Riders made it two wins in as many days as they glided to a 47-59 road win at Archers, with Deanne Hayward highly influential.

Team Northumbria had to work hard and record a late run to see off local rivals Durham Palatinates 60-65. The home side had looked set for a historic first win, but were undone by a nice line of 19 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists from Ali Gorrell.

Manchester Mystics coasted to a win on their travels at BA London Lions as one of their players also flirted with a triple-double. Georgia Jones had 15 points, 10 boards and 8 assists in a commanding 45-70 success.

Meanwhile 25 points from Gianna Woods took third place Westfield Health Sheffield to a 78-57 home triumph against Caledonia Pride.
