Nottingham Wildcats are beginning to hit their stride as we head into the business end of the 2017-18 season.
The two-time defending league champions got their campaign off to a slow start, but won the WBBL Cup title in January and have been victorious in 5 of their last 6 league encounters.
Nottingham’s latest triumph came against Oaklands Wolves on Saturday with a 75-66 success making it three straight wins at home.
Ashley Harris posted 18 points and 10 rebounds for another double-double while Onayssa Sbhai followed suit with 12 points along with 12 assists in the win.
“Saturday’s game was a must needed win for us” declared Harris.
“Although Oaklands put up a good fight, we were able to respond and come out on top.
The Wildcats now have a 9-7 record as they close the gap on the top four with Harris targeting a strong run-in to take into the post-season.
“We have some big games coming up. With only four league games left it’s important for us to win out to have a chance to secure the 4th spot going into the Play-Offs.
“This year has taken a little longer for us to click and come together as a team, but we continue to build and get better still every practice which is going to be important as we get down to the last stretch of the season.”
Sevenoaks Suns enjoyed a double-winning weekend on the road to move back ahead in the title race with Leicester Riders not in action.
Len Busch’s side opened with a 54-70 win away at Durham Palatinates as Judit Fritz netted a game-high 20 points before they overcame Team Northumbria the following day with Cat Carr scoring 22 points in a 53-77 success.

Meanwhile, Durham bounced back from Saturday’s loss to pick up their second win in as many weeks as they earned a 72-45 victory over BA London Lions behind a 23-point haul from Cierra Ceazer.
Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters claimed outright control of third spot with a dominant 93-62 win at home to Manchester Mystics.
