Former EuroCup Women performer Theairra Taylor is back at Durham after the north-east club swooped to secure her services as they look to spark their 2018-19 season into life.

Previously suiting up before they made the transiton to the WBBL, the player, who has stepped put in prestigious FIBA competition for Basketball Nymburk, is excited to be back on board with the north-east club.

She enthused: “Signing with Durham is exciting, since it’s a great programme with amazing staff from top to bottom. Lee Davie is one of a kind, an awesome coach and a great person. Honestly, it’s one of the main reasons why I returned.

“I met my teammates for the first time today and they are very talented. I can tell this a great group both on and off the court.

“Winning is always the expectation, but one game at a time,” continued the Iowa graduate who played in Romania last season with Cluj Napoca.

“The goal is to grow and improve as the season progresses to give us a shot at a trophy.”

Coach Davie added: “I’m really excited to welcome Theairra back to the programme. It’s really special to be able to add another high quality person to the really good group of people we have here.

“I think she’s going to be a great addition to the team and the league overall.

“She’s brings a wealth of experience with her from both the States and in Europe, which I think is going to be vital in this next stretch as we push to solidify a Play-Off position – as well as what we hope is going to be a successful WBBL Trophy run.

“It gives us another proven dynamic playmaker capable of creating her own shot as well as for others,” stated the play-caller.

“She’s another three point threat, which is going to give us that additional space inside for our bigs as we head into this next flurry of games.

“I think it’s going to be crucial to our success to have a well balanced team at both ends the floor, giving us as much flexibility as possible as we look to succeed in this very competitive league,” concluded Davie.
