Wolves hit a new high tidemark

WBBL Championship
Oaklands Wolves 95-36 Cardiff Met Archers
(31-7,55-14,79-21)

The history keeps flowing in the WBBL as Oaklands Wolves proudly recorded their biggest ever victory as a top flight club.

They smashed past Archers in a real team effort as no fewer than six players amassed double-digit scoring returns.

Leading scorers – Milligan 13, Freeman 13, Schluter 12 (Wolves); Dukic 10, Lewis 8, Jorgensen 6, Wagstaff 6 (Archers)

Turning point – There wasn’t one. Oaklands came out all guns blazing and cut down Archers before they had any chance to get into their stride with that devastating opening period.

Key stat – If you take 69 shots and miss 55 of them, you aren’t going to win many games – let alone be competitive. A day to forget for Archers.

Game hero(es) – There were plenty of contenders with a trio standing out. Roya Rustamzada claimed 10 points, 10 boards and 6 assists, with Lauren Milligan also claiming a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds. Meanwhile Tia Freeman continued her super form with 13 points, 6 boards, 5 assists and 3 steals.

Box score.
