All-Star Five – Week 16

There were a couple of truly special performances this week, including a near triple-double and one of the best shooting displays of the entire season.

Holly Winterburn (Leicester Riders)
Yes, the Leicester guard was on absolute fire as she came so close to landing a triple-double in the super Trophy win at Oaklands. Winterburn ripped Wolves apart with 29 points, 11 rebounds and 8 steals.

Cat Carr (Sevenoaks Suns)
Following up the heartbreak of the Final loss the previous weekend, Carr put up another stellar display as Suns opened their Trophy campaign by beating Lions. She had an excellent 22 points and 8 assists.

Anneke Schluter (Oaklands Wolves)
It was bitter sweet for Wolves after their Trophy loss against Riders, but Schulter got her team on track with a win 24 hours later. She contributed a smart 22 points, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks against Cardiff.

Janice Monakana (Sevenoaks Suns)
Suns were rampant in their second WBBL Trophy contest of the weekend as they smashed past Essex. Monakana was impressive as she garnered a team-high 19 points – also adding 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists.

Sarah Toeaina (Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters)
It was one of the most eye-popping displays of the entire season as Toeaina destroyed Manchester Mystics. It was not just the brilliant double-double of 32 points and 14 rebounds, but the staggering 13 of 14 floor shooting that January’s Player of the Month made.

Off the bench – Vanessa Da Silva (Sevenoaks Suns), Theairra Taylor (Durham Palatinates), Kara Bonenberger (Newcastle Eagles), Stef Collins (Cardiff Met Archers), Roya Rustamzada (Oaklands Wolves), Judit Fritz (Sevenoaks Suns), Rheanne Bailey (Manchester Mystics).
