Sevenoaks Suns have further strengthened their roster for the forthcoming WBBL season by adding Lavinia Da Silva and Millie Stevens to their ranks.

Da Silva crosses the Thames to head South, having shown her attributes in the paint during the past couple of seasons in the league with BA London Lions.

The strength inside of the centre will be particularly welcomed in the wake of Ijeoma Ofomata departing to take up a role with NBA Africa.

Meanwhile it is very much a return to the fold for Stevens, who took some time off from the game last season after retuning from three years playing College basketball at Illinois State.

“With EJ leaving, we knew we needed some help inside,” stated Suns coach, Len Busch.

“So, when Lavinia became available, I didn’t hesitate. She is strong, a good rebounder and can score inside and out. She can also defend well too.

“Millie played her junior basketball with Suns and it is a pleasure to have her back as an adult. She is vocal, loves to run the floor and can score a variety of ways, so she really fits in with Suns well.”

The addition of the pair means Suns have a confirmed roster so far of Cat Carr, Ta’Yani Clark, Janice Monakana, Renee Busch, Julia Koppl, Irene Garrido, Haylee Miller, Lavinia Da Silva and Millie Stevens.
