B. Braun Sheffield Hatters 89-65 Manchester Giants

B. Braun Sheffield Hatters surged past the Manchester Giants in the final 10 minutes of the game to earn a hard-fought 89-65 victory.

First Half

Despite losing the jump ball, the Giants were the first to score and take an early advantage.

There were a serious of momentum shifts as both teams traded the lead, before the Hatters strung a few points together to create a six-point gap between them and their opponents.

Manchester then clawed their way back into the game, closing the deficit to single point by the end of the first quarter.

A similar story continued in the second quarter, with the lead switching hands, before a flurry of points from Georgia Gayle, gave Sheffield an eight-point lead.

But once again Manchester Giants fought back, ending the half-tied on points.

Second Half

As it played out in the first, both teams took control of the game. But this time the Hatters stopped any comeback by the Giants and eked out a seven-point lead in the penultimate quarter.

From this point forward the Hatters were in the driving seat, with a lead and momentum behind them, as they kept pushing to end any comeback attempt from the Giants.

With help from Desiree Ramos, who scored 13 points alone in the final quarter, the Hatters secured the win with a 24-point advantage.                               

Player of the Game

Desiree Ramos’ star-studded last quarter gave the Hatters a cushion, with an impressive 20 points, two rebounds and three assists across the whole game.
