The B. Braun Sheffield Hatters have announced the re-signing of Chantel Charles for the 2026/27 season.
The 32-year-old British guard re-signs for the Hatters for the new Super League Basketball season, in what will be her second season in Sheffield. After joining part way through the 2025/26 season, Chantel averaged 3.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.
Charles has previous experience in the UK with her hometown London Lions, as well as several spells in Europe including Spain, Greece and Romania. Chantel has also represented GB throughout her career.
Chantel is delighted to be returning to the Hatters, stating:
“I’m very happy to have re-signed in Sheffield this season. After the success of last year, I want to build on this with the good core we have of returnees as well as some new talent. I’m looking forward to getting started for the new season.”
Sheffield Hatters Head Coach Vanessa Ellis stated:
“Chantel provides us with vast experience, which was evident in the latter parts of last season. She is a great personality to have on the roster and someone the new signings to the team can look to for guidance. I’m very happy to have re-signed Chantel for the coming season.”
