Essex Rebels have announced the new signing of 6’4″ former NCAA Division One athlete and captain Sune Swart.

In her final year at Bucknell, Swart secured several accolades including Third Team All-Patriot League, Patriot League All-Tournament Team, and one-time Patriot League Player of the Week.

Playing 33 games, including the final 32 as a starter, she averaged 11.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in her four-year period at Bucknell University.

Sune joins the Rebels after two successful seasons with Spanish side Baxi Ferrol, helping them gain promotion to the top league.

“To me, playing for the Essex Rebels this season means to be a part of a special group that is passionately undertaking the challenge of continuing to build a successful basketball program,” said Sune.

“Being here is a great opportunity for me to grow personally and professionally, on & off the court.”
