Essex Rebels have welcomed 5’6 Guard” Shameka McNeill from the Anderson University.

As a graduate transfer, McNeill earned three straight SAC player of the week honours and a spot on the Division 2 All-America Team.

McNeill had an impressive final season at Anderson, averaging 22.1 points per game 3.6 rebounds per game, and 1.5 assists per game while leading the league and nation in scoring.

McNeill reached the 1000-point milestone, scoring 565 points during regular season play and was named the Statistical Champion for Points per Game (22.5).

She scored a total of 619 points on the season. McNeill also ranked third in the SAC for steals per game (2.2) swiping a total of 58 for the season.

“This is a wonderful opportunity as well as one of my goals, to play basketball overseas,” said Shameka. “It means everything to me as I elevate my level of playing and opportunities as a female basketball player.”
