Essex Rebels announced another new signing, in the form of Alexa Naessens, a 6’1″ forward/centre from the University of Colgate.

Naessens joins the University of Essex and the Essex Rebels after a strong four-year career with the Raiders.

During her final year, she received both the Best Teammate Award and the Coaches Award for the support and leadership she exhibited leading the team throughout her four years.

Naessens majored in Marine Biology at Colgate and will now continue her education as she pursues her master’s degree at the University of Essex.

“Joining the Essex Rebels this season is going to be an amazing opportunity to experience basketball at an international level,” said Naessens.

“Being provided with the opportunity to play basketball following collegiate basketball has always been a dream of mine and with the Rebels I am able to pursue that dream.”
