A total of 14 players have been confirmed as part of Great Britain’s outline training camp for the FIBA U18 Women’s European Championship Division B, which takes place in Austria next month.
Lancashire Spinners’ Shauna Harrison and Barking Abbey’s Loren Christie come straight off the back of their participation in the U20 camp. Harrison was part of the U18 team which reached the bronze game in Dublin, along with Leicester Riders’ Holly Winterburn, Barking Abbey’s Charlotte Ellmore and Caledonia Pride’s Alix Henderson.
Christie was also part of the U16 team last summer along with Sevenoaks Suns duo Alexandra Baker and Katie Bennett, and Ipswich’s Esther Little.
The Suns system has a third representative in the camp in Olivia Partridge, while there is also room for Shawnisay Millar, Myerscough’s Emma Cheetham and Sheffield Hatters guard Jessica Southwell. 5’10 forward Charlotte Mackay and 5’8 guard Loie Webb are also involved.
Led by Head Coach Vanessa Ellis and Assistant Coaches Jamie Smith and GB senior star Chantelle Handy, the team will play their first competitive game against hosts Austria when the FIBA U18 Women’s European Championship begins on Friday 3rd August.
