Rebels snap up Ward for maiden WBBL campaign

The newest franchise in the WBBL have made their first roster move after it was confirmed that Jessy Ward has penned a deal to play for Essex Rebels during their inaugural campaign in the top flight.

The combo guard is an outstanding shooter and expected to be a high-level, on-court leader for the league newcomers.

Ward played professionally for Norwood Flames in Australia last season, having graduated from the University of Tennessee at St Martin in the NCAA.

Competing in the Ohio Valley Conference, she racked up more than 10 points per game during her three years donning a Skyhawks jersey.

More player announcements will be made soon by the Rebels, as anticipation and excitement grows ahead of the club making its WBBL debut.
