Leicester Riders’ Taylor O’Brien scoops Molten Player of the Month honours

After a glittering start to her professional career, Taylor O’Brien has earned herself Molten Player of the Month honours for October and November, with the guard impressing fans across the League thanks to her dynamic performances.

In her rookie season after graduating from Florida State University, O’Brien put up impressive numbers of almost 20 points, seven rebounds and three assists per game in her first six weeks of professional hoops in the Women’s British Basketball League.

Leicester Head Coach Ben Stanley has had to rebuild the roster over the summer but O’Brien’s strong play – as well as impressive performances from the rest of the roster – have helped them deliver a positive start to the season, enjoying a 4-1 start to the campaign.

A narrow loss to the London Lions is the only blotch on their otherwise excellent record, and the Riders have a chance to return to winning ways this weekend as they venture to the home of the Essex Rebels on Saturday afternoon.
