Reigning Molten Betty Codona Coach of the Year, Miguel Angel Ortega Marco, has picked up where he left off last season, winning the first monthly coaching award of the 2023/24 campaign.

Leading a new-look Caledonia Gladiators to an unbeaten 3-0 start in the Women’s British Basketball League season, Ortega Marco also masterminded a successful European campaign for his side, who shone in the EuroCup Women pool stages.

The Spaniard has assembled a roster capable of challenging on all fronts, and they’ve proven that so far this campaign, adding a fourth win to their record in early December and looking ahead this weekend to a stern challenge against the B. Braun Sheffield Hatters.

Beyond that, a EuroCup Women Playoff encounter awaits with NKA Universitas Pecs of the Hungarian Championship, as the Gladiators and London Lions continue to put the League on the map in Europe with their exploits.
