Great Britain rising star Holly Winterburn has been recognised for her excellent campaign with Leicester Riders by being named Molten WBBL Young Player of the Year for 2017-18.

The guard has been exceptional and especially in the latter half of the season, when she has thrived on the extra responsibility which was handed to her in the wake of the departure of Alex Smith.

Winterburn made the decisive contribution in the Betty Codona WBBL Trophy Final, as she propelled her team to their first ever silverware as a WBBL franchise.

In the WBBL Championship, she shot a stellar 55% from the field, averaging 9 points per outing and an impressive 3.2 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game.
