Eight teams will take to the court this weekend for what promises to be a spectacular opening round of the Play-Offs.
It’s win or go home; each of the Quarter-Finals decided by a one-off knockout game.
One team entering the post-season full of confidence is Nottingham Wildcats. Closing out the season by winning four of their final five fixtures, the Wildcats have hit their stride at just the right time.
On Saturday the team takes on Manchester Mystics at Nottingham Wildcats Arena.
“Home court advantage is big for us,” admitted Siobhan Prior.
“It was our main goal for the latter part of the season.
“We had targeted fourth place in order to give us that advantage.
“We play well at home, we feel comfortable at home.”
“We’ve had some positive results of late, which I think has given us confidence going into the post-season.
“The big thing for us is that we’ve proven to ourselves that we can win as we are.
“We know what we have to work on but we are confident that if we focus on us, good things will happen.
“Obviously we beat Manchester last time we faced them but previous results don’t really matter in the Play-Offs.
“In this league, anyone can beat anyone.
“If we don’t perform to our best, there’s every chance we won’t move on and the same can be said for Manchester.
“I think teams know that – it’s what makes our league exciting.”
Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters hosts Team Northumbria in the day’s only other contest.
On Sunday, Leicester Riders do battle with Play-Offs rookies Caledonia Pride before Championship winners Sevenoaks Suns and Cardiff Met Archers conclude the Quarter-Finals schedule.
