Essex Rebels: Claire Paxton, Katherine Tudor, Megan Haines, Dayzsha Rogan, Darcy Kay Rees.
Essex Rebels stop a late comeback attempt from Durham Palatinates winning 74-79 to close the gap to the top teams.
First Half
It took just six seconds from the starting buzzer for the Rebels to score, having won the tip-off.
From here, the game was fast-paced, with end-to-end action, as the Palatinates tried to keep up and stop the advantage from getting too big.
In the second quarter, Essex took an early lead once again, and from that the momentum gave themselves a 17-point lead.
But when Janika Griffith Wallace was subbed back on, she worked her magic, and the advantage that the Rebels had started to disappear.
By the end of the half the gap was back down to 7 points, still anyone’s game to play for heading into the second half.
Second Half
The third quarter was not as action-packed as the rest but still vital, as it was anyone’s game to win.
With both sides having a low-scoring penultimate quarter, the Rebels still had an 8-point advantage at their disposal.
Janika Griffith Wallace continued to shine, giving everything she could to help Durham seal the victory today.
But they just fell short of the W. With just 16 seconds to go, they were only 1 point behind, but 2 fouls in the final few seconds of the game gifted the Rebels the win.
They won 74-79 over their northern competitors with a 5-point advantage.
Player of the Game
Even though she was on the losing side today, the Play of the Game was Janika Griffith Wallace. Her standout performance kept Durham in the game for as long as they could. The impressive stats she posted only tell a small story, with 28 points, 7 rebounds and an assist.

Cardiff Met Archers: Abigail Yunker, Cami Barone, Solene Lemoigne, Jenna Hoschouer, Haylee Saurette.
London Lions: Ivana Katanic, Shanice Beckford-Norton, Savannah Wilkinson, Abby Meyers, Maya Price.
London Lions put on one of the most dominate displays this season winning 19-95 away from home against the Cardiff Met Archers.
First Half
As expected from the Lions, they got off to a flying start, but the Archers fought back, and managed to keep the points deficit to only 4 points.
However, an impressive scoring streak by London at the end of the quarter left gave them an 18-point advantage.
This advantage only just grew in the second quarter – a lack of points for Cardiff Met, as well as the quality of the visitors, saw the gap increase quickly.
The Lions ended the second half with a 30-point advantage and a 15-45 score line.
Second Half
It was an impossible task for Cardiff Met to come back into this game in this second half, as the Lions remain undefeated in both domestic and European competition.
And this was evident, with the Archers only scoring a single point in the third quarter to the Lions’ 30.
The Lions saw no signs of slowing down, not only having an impressive scoring run but also an iron-wall defence which gave the Archers no hope of a win today.
At the end of the game, the Lions came away with an astonishing 76-point advantage over the Archers, with a final score of 19-95
Player of the Game
There were two very good candidates for player of the game, but today it has to go to Abby Meyers, not only for her point scoring with 17 points, but also her teamplay with 5 assists, as well as 7 rebounds on top of that.
| Team | Player | Points | Rebounds | Assists |
| Cardiff Met Archers | Haylee Saurette | 15 | 8 | 0 |
| Cardiff Met Archers | Abigail Yunker | 2 | 5 | 2 |
| London Lions | Abby Meyers | 17 | 7 | 5 |
