WBBL All-Star Five – Week 11

We have two debutantes in our line-up this week and a new outright season leader again.

Daniela Lozzi (Sevenoaks Suns)
It’s a debut appearance for the rising star after she was the main driving force in Suns claiming a brilliant Championship success at Mystics. Lozzi produced an all-action 10 rebounds, eight assists, five points, four steals, a blocked shot and no turnovers at all in Manchester.

Alison Gorrell (Team Northumbria)
An uplift in form coincided with Team Northumbria claiming one of their best results of the season with a win at Riders. Gorrell recorded the best display of the entire weekend after harvesting a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds – as well as a super six steals, five assists and two steals.

Steph Gandy (Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters)
The veteran becomes only the third player this season to reach a fifth starting appearance after helping Hatters to power their way to a road win at Archers. Gandy proved tough to handle for the home defence as she plundered a game-high 26 points in the match-up.

Imani Whittington (Barking Abbey Crusaders)
It’s a debut slot for the forward as she ensured that Barking Abbey fended off a late surge by Wolves to take victory. Whittington excelled in the contest and netted and excellent 19 points to help maintain the momentum for Crusaders, who continue to chase down a top four place.

Ashley Harris (Nottingham Wildcats)
The Molten WBBL Player of the Month for December has picked up where she left off last month and now finds herself our outright season leader after cementing her eighth starting berth of the campaign. That came courtesy of 19 points, nine rebounds and four steals in the win at Caledonia Pride.
