Manchester Basketball’s Danni Williams secures MVP honours

Super League Basketball is delighted to announce the roster for the Molten Most Valuable Player, following a voting process involving the League’s Head Coaches and Captains.

Manchester Basketball’s double-double machine Danni Williams has secured this year’s honours, after an incredible campaign for Rheanne Bailey’s side that saw the American help lead her team to the post-season and a 13-7 record in the Regular Season.

Williams was also named to the Molten All-League Team of the Year for her performances this season. Leading the league in scoring and rebounding, Williams formed a potent partnership with Molten Defensive Player of the Year Davida Dale, with both becoming the first teammates to notch triple-doubles in the same game earlier in the campaign.

Reflecting on her success in securing this award, Williams said:

“First off I’d just like to say thank you! I would not be in this position without my savior Jesus Christ. Thank you to my parents and my family for their sacrifice. A special thanks to the Manchester Basketball Club for allowing me to play for their organization this season.

“Thank you to the coaches who put in a lot of hard work preparing our team each week and especially a thank you to my teammates! Basketball is a team sport and it takes a total team effort for this to be possible. Lastly thank you to each person who had their hand involved in this season somehow. We appreciate your support and I thank you. It is an honor to receive this award.”

Manchester Basketball Head Coach Rheanne Bailey added:

“It’s been so fun coaching Danni this season. Her performances really speak for themselves. The numbers she has delivered this season have been very impressive and she’s been a great person to have on the team.”
