Leicester Riders are excited to confirm the retum of Katie Januszewska for the 2025/26 Super League Basketball (SLB) season.
The 6’0 wing remains under contract with the Riders as part of the multi-year deal she signed in 2023, continuing her development within the Club’s established performance pathway.
A graduate of Charnwood College and a product of the Riders Academy system, Januszewska enjoyed a strong season last year in the WSLB, averaging 13.7 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. She won, Molten Young Player of the Year and earned her spot in the British Team of the Year.
Januszewska has also impressed at the national level, representing Great Britain Basketball across multiple age groups as well as being selected for the Women’s EuroBasket 2025 over the summer, showcasing her all-around game on the international stage.
Speaking on her return, Januszewska said:
“I’m excited to be retuning to Riders for another season! There have been some changes over the summer but I think it will be an exciting year and I’m looking forward to meeting my teammates and working with Coach Nick to see what we can build throughout the year!”
Head Coach Nick Moodey praised her progress and potential:
“I’m thrilled to have KJ retur for the upcoming season, she was a big part of the team last season and provided massive contributions on court. She is constantly wanting to improve all aspects of her game and works incredibly hard everyday. She’s had a great summer away with the GB National Team and I’m looking forward to seeing KJ take another step forwards this season.”
Januszewska will continue to play for the Riders alongside studying with our partners at Loughborough University whilst competing for them in the BUCS competition. The club would like to once again thank Loughborough university for their continued support.
