Three teams represented in Molten All-League Team of the Year

Super League Basketball is delighted to announce the roster for the Molten All-League Team of the Year, following a voting process involving the League’s Head Coaches and Captains.

This year’s roster sees two Manchester Basketball stars make the cut, alongside a dangerous duo from the Newcastle Eagles and a sophomore standout from the Oaklands Wolves.

Representing MCR, the pairing of Danni Williams and Davida Dale have set the league alight at times this season with their individual performances for Rheanne Bailey’s side as well as their potency as a duo on both ends of the floor. Let’s not forget… earlier in the season this is the pairing that became the first teammates in league history to notch a triple-double in the same game!

Williams also leads the league in scoring and rebounding, whereas Dale sets the pace with steals and ranks second in assists. The latter also made her own bit of league history this season as she incredibly became the first player ever to secure a quadruple-double in Championship action.

The Newcastle Eagles brought a duo of their own to the table in this category as Jada Guinn and Tierra Hodges join Williams and Dale in being recipients of this honour. No two teammates in the league this season combined for more points per game than Guinn and Hodges (39.4ppg), as both have been crucial to Chloe Gaynor’s side achieving their highest-ever Championship finish of third position.

Both also ranked inside the top 10 for field goal percentage in the Regular Season, with Guinn (56.5%) leading the way and Hodges (53.1%) ranking seventh. These are two efficient scorers and consistent contributors for one of the most dangerous sides in the league, as one of only two teams to manage to beat the newly-crowned Champions – Oaklands Wolves – in league action.

Completing the roster is Oaklands’ sophomore guard Sam Ashby, who has had a super second campaign on British shores after moving from the Mattioli Arena to join Lee Ryan’s side. Ashby has contributed heavily in all statistical categories and been the go-to player on several occasions to help the Wolves rise to historic heights in this campaign. Averaging 15 points per game in Championship play for the Wolves, ranking 15th overall, Ashby ranked second in the league for three-point percentage also.
